DR. BRETTJET CODY, Ph.D, LP, NHSP

 Dr. Cody specializes in the psychological effects of cultural mistrust in African Americans as well as educational attitudes in contemporary developing nations. Dr. Cody has worked extensively with distressed children and adolescents, abuse and trauma survivors, and people with mental illness and substance abuse problems. Dr. Cody has worked with children all over the world, from developing treatment models in Dallas, Texas public schools to understanding cultural dynamics in the classrooms of Abu Dhabi. Dr. Cody is currently a professor in the Psychology and Counseling Department at the United Arab Emirates University. She leads a project with the Abu Dhabi Educational Counsel to create a School Psychology Master's Program and set standards for the practice of school psychology in the Arab region.

Dr. Cody earned her doctorate in educational psychology at University of Texas –Austin. She is a nationally certified school psychologist. Inspiring, empowering, respectful, and compassionate, Dr. Cody believes “the decarceration imperative means each person has unobstructed access to reach their healthy human potential. My assessments and therapeutic style aim to facilitate that goal."
